Pikri Forbidden I.P.A Beer 5,7% 0.33L
Pikri I.P.A. is a light blonde, naturally hazy beer, with 5.7% alcoholic strength. It is not pasteurized, unfiltered and re-fermented in the bottle.
It belongs to the India Pale Ale (I.P.A) category, the fastest growing microbrewery beer category in the world. The prevailing story about the birth of the category is that - chronologically - around the 18th century, the beers had to travel from Europe to India (a colony at the time). The journey was long, the technical means were not sufficient, the product was delicate, did not hold up, arrived spoiled. The solution was found by increasing the alcoholic strength and adding large quantities of hops. Hops, a basic ingredient of every beer as we know it, act as a natural preservative, but it is also the main ingredient that gives the beer its characteristic bitterness and aroma.
Thus, I.P.A. beers are products characterized by a stronger bitterness and rich aroma, as a result of the use of larger quantities of hops in the production process.
For Pikri I.P.A (IBU 60), two of the world's top hops were used, giving a combination of fresh citrus and tropical fruit aromas and a particularly charming bitter aftertaste with satisfying length.
