Duvel Beer 0.75L
Duvel is a natural beer with a subtle bitterness, a refined taste and a distinctive hop character. The unique brewing process, which lasts about 90 days, guarantees pure character, fine effervescence and a pleasant sweet alcohol taste.
Apart from pure spring water, which is the main ingredient of beer, barley is the most important raw material. The barley has to germinate for five days, at the end of which we only get the malt. The colour of the malt and consequently of the beer is determined by the temperature. Duvel acquires its typical bitterness by adding various varieties of aromatic Slovenian and Czech hops. We use exclusively exclusive hops that are known for their consistent and excellent quality.
Duvel ferments for the first time in tanks at 20 to 26°C. The brewer uses his own culture for this. The original yeast strain, which Albert Moortgat himself selected in the 1920s, comes from Scotland. After maturing in storage tanks where the beer is cooled to -2°C, the drink is ready for bottling. Thanks to the addition of extra sugars and yeast, the beer is refilled in the bottle. This takes place in warm cellars (24°C) and lasts for two weeks. The beer is then transferred to cold cellars, where it continues to mature and stabilise for another six weeks. This extremely long maturation period is unique and contributes to Duvel's refined flavour and clean taste.
