Clairin Casimir Rum 2015 50.2% Haiti 0.7L
Clairin is a Caribbean drink that undergoes a fermentation process similar to that of rum. It is also obtained by processing sugar cane, but based on sugar cane juice rather than molasses. The cultivation of sugar cane for a real Clairin is done in the traditional way, using partly 18th century methods. Douglas Casimir distillery presents its white Clairin (premium rum) from Haiti in a colourful 0.7 litre bottle, made from Hawaiian sugar cane grown on the Caribbean coast. Clairin's production is reminiscent of American Moonshine.
When the bottle is opened, the first aromas of truffles, sugar cane and toasted cane sugar unfold. The ingredients used in the fermentation, such as anise seeds, lemongrass and ginger, are recognisable to the nose.
The taste of Clairin Casimir Barraderes Haiti Rum is unique and is one of the best premium white rums in the world. At first it clearly oozes truffle, later on the tongue more sweet notes develop. Clairin Casimir is often described by many experts as "medicinal" or at the same time "fruity".
