• The Greek Whisky Association's 11th bottling is a First Fill Bourbon Hogshead ( Cask no. 313693) from the Linkwood distillery, distilled in 2012 and bottled in 2022 at 45%, giving 336 collectible bottles.
• Linkwood's distillery dates back to 1821, when it was built by Peter Brown. It is located on the banks of the River Lossie, near Elgin, Speyside, which is the area with the highest concentration of distilleries per square kilometre in the world. The distillery has 11 Oregon Pine wash backs and 6 stills.
• The importance of a bottling by Samaroli.
• The story begins in 1968 when the late Silvano Samaroli, the so-called Maestro, founded the company Samaroli Srl Wine and Spirits Merchants in Rome, and from his initial involvement in importing spirits, he later entered the independent bottling sector, becoming the first independent bottler outside Scotland and England.
• Nowadays the name Samaroli reaches legendary levels. Older bottlings of the brand change hands for many thousands of euros.
• Bottlings such as Laphroaig 1967, Bowmore 1966 Bouquet and Springbank 1969 Cask Strength, all bottled by Maestro, stand out for their quality with the latter being the only one to have received 98 points from Serge Valentin.
• In terms of contemporary history, Antonio Bleve continues, as custodian of the great legacy, just as Silvano finished. Quality in the extreme, without compromise.
• He is, after all, the same man who captured the myth of Theseus and the Minotaur in this futuristic label - a work of art. He also curated the specially designed glasses, which not only flatter the spirit, but also convey its aromas and flavours in a unique way.
