Balvenie 12 Y.O American Oak is the first whisky in The Balvenie story series. The story is told by Master Malt apprentice Kelsey McKechnie, who wanted to make a fruity and sweet Balvenie. To enable her to realise the project, she was supplied with Virgin Oak casks from Kentucky, which were then roasted twice. These barrels were filled with a whiskey that had previously been aged in ex-Bourbon barrels. The result is a complex, twelve-year-old whisky with aromas of candied fruit, vanilla and coconut.

• Nose : Fruity and sweet, notes of vanilla, honey and fruit
• Mouth : Complex and rich, aromas of candied fruit, exotic coconut and delicate vanilla.  
• Finish : Long finish with fruity sweetness
