Macallan The Harmony Collection 44% Highland Single Malt Whisky 0.7L Whisky
Following the excellent first volume of the Harmony collection, the single malt "Rich Cacao", Macallan Distillery offers a new, very limited edition: the Macallan Harmony Collection Intense Arabica.
A whisky that celebrates the world of coffee, inspired by the flavours of the Arabica coffee bean from Ethiopia, recognised as the birthplace of coffee.
Steven Bremner, whisky maker at The Macallan, immersed himself in the art of coffee by hosting a Masterclass with world-renowned coffee experts at The Macallan Estate.
He wanted to create an intense whisky reminiscent of the flavours of coffee and chose a combination of American and European oak barrels to achieve characteristic espresso coffee notes that are "particularly sweet, yet strong".
The packaging for this version was created from reused and recycled materials, including coffee bean pods.
- Nose: clear aromas of fresh coffee and cappuccino - behind them freshly baked gingerbread and tiramisu sprinkled with cocoa, dried fruit aromas, a little vanilla, leather and spicy oak caress the nose
- Mouth: full and harmonious with strong notes of strong coffee, again tiramisu and vanilla - then it becomes more fruity with notes of ripe dark berries and sultanas, roasted nuts in the background and again oak
- Finish: very long finish - there is black coffee and espresso, behind it sweet notes of ripe berries, especially blackberries and gooseberries - light tones of old leather and spicy oak
