Monsignori's vineyards is the expression used on the island when talking about the oldest vineyard of the Argyros Estate. It is the vineyard of Episkopi - the oldest in Santorini - and has been cultivated by the Argyros Estate for over 2 centuries. Argyros Estate Cuvée Monsignori is produced from vines that are over 200 years old. It is a Santorini that expresses very strongly the terroir of the island and gives more fully the characteristics of the Assyrtiko variety with absolute respect to tradition and through the special approach of the Argyros Estate to vineyard cultivation and winemaking. The vines are ploughed with mules and pruned with care. A very strict selection of grapes is made during the harvest and an even stricter selection of wine during vinification. A complex wine with a strong personality. The label depicts the old wine cellar from the 1800's where the Argyros family made wine before the Argyros Estate was even established as a commercial company in 1903.
