TEDOURA CASTRO is Patras' diptych par excellence. Its name comes from the Latin "tinctura" which means tincture, extract. According to tradition, its origin dates back to the 15th century, during the Venetian era. It is the only one containing 100% natural extracts of spices and fruits, mainly cinnamon and cloves, but also nutmeg, citrus and Chios mastic.
In 1999 we were the first to retrieve from the past and were the first to highlight the Tentura liqueur, researching its history, using modern marketing to create the product TENTOURA CASTRO and placing it not only in the commercial market, but also in the field of Art and Culture. From that point onwards, Tentura's story was re-launched, it won the public's preference, expanded into the global market, attracted journalistic and scientific interest and became a reference point for the city of Patras.
Today, TEDOURA CASTRO is the most typical Patras product and is drunk everywhere: In the restaurant after dinner, in bars and cafés, plain, with ice or in cocktails with Brandy, Mastic or red fruit juices.
