Today, METAXA is exported to over 60 countries and is among the 100 most popular drinks worldwide and among the 50 fastest growing drinks. METAXA is available in five grades: "Three Star" (at least three years old), "Five Star" (at least five years old), and "Seven Star" (at least seven years old), 12 Star (at least 12 years old) and Private Reserve with spirits over 30 years old. In 2008, on the occasion of the 120th anniversary of the distillery, METAXA AEN was put on the market in 1,888 numbered bottles of fine French crystal Sevres. METAXA AEN is a unique spirit that comes from Barrel No. 1, also known as "Spyros Metaxas' barrel" with spirits at least 100 years old and was an object of collection and was soon sold out with prices exceeding 1000 euros/bottle.

METAXA was the first drink consumed in space and was one of the major sponsors of the 1982 World Cup in Spain. The Metaxas hospital in Piraeus was built by a donation from Angelos Metaxas in 1963.
